The Gateway Upgrade Project is the largest bridge and road infrastructure project in Queensland’s history. The project duplicates the Gateway Bridge and upgrades 20 kilometres of the Gateway Motorway from Mt. Gravatt-Capalaba Road to Nudgee Road. 
 The LAJV appointed VPL as the D&C supplier for the ITS and fibre network plus the roadway lighting which will take about three years to build .  Visionstream has also been engaged for a ten-year O&M service over the entire ITS/fibre network.

 Through the ITS, Queensland Motorways Traffic Management Centre will use real-time information to assess traffic conditions, manage congestion and alert motorists of travel times, road works and incidents on the motorway.
