Features and Benefits : Cisco's network design for this project is based on it's flagship CRS-1, a Carrier grade IP Router with a capacity of up to 1.2Tbps per cabinet.
 
Description :

The IP Core Network Upgrade Project  was awarded in December 2005 to Cisco. This project involves end-to-end delivery of a new IP Core network to replace Telstra's existing Telstra Internet Direct (TID) and Routed Data Networks (RDN).
Visionstream has been working with Cisco since the early tendering stages of the project and was subcontracted by Cisco to Coordinate and Project Manage the installation phase of the project.
The project involves Site Survey and Design of the Telstra equipment rooms, the supply of installation materials and installation of the equipment.
The installation phase started in December 2005 and the first phase of the project is planned to be finished by June 2006.
